Sanford "Sandy" Wolff, a beloved father, grandfather, educator, and craftsman, passed away on March 13, 2025, at the age of 93. He was preceded in death by his cherished wife, Harriet "Honey" Wolff, and his daughter, Linda DeVelasco.
Sandy proudly served his country as a veteran of the Korean War. After his service, he used the GI Bill to earn a degree in Industrial Arts, a path that led him to a fulfilling career as a teacher and school administrator. His passion for education and commitment to shaping young minds left a lasting impact on countless students.
Beyond his professional life, Sandy was a talented craftsman, known for his skill in woodworking. He built much of his own furniture and even constructed a cherished vacation home in Maine, a place of many happy memories for his family as “Mayor of Wolffville”.
Sandy had a great sense of humor, with a love for dad jokes that could bring a smile to anyone’s face. His quick wit and lighthearted nature were a source of comfort, especially in stressful situations.
He had a special way of making those around him laugh, reminding everyone that even in difficult times, joy could always be found.
He is survived by his loving children: his son and daughter-in-law Richard and Janet Wolff, his daughter and son-in-law Robin and Ken Batterson, and his daughter and son-in-law Gail and John Kenneally, as well as his son-in-law, Alan DeVelasco. He was a devoted grandfather to Jeff Wolff, Greg Wolff, Sara Romano, and Kristi Kenneally, and a proud great-grandfather to Sloane Romano. Sandy is also survived by his longtime friend, Judith Gordon, whose companionship brought him joy in his later years.
A funeral service will be held on April 3, 2025, at 2:30 PM at IJ Morris at Star of David Cemetery of the Palm Beaches, 9321 Memorial Park Rd, Palm Beach Gardens, FL 33412.
Sandy’s legacy of kindness, laughter, and craftsmanship will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Sandy’s name can be made to the following charities: The Myositis Association and American Cancer Society.
