Terry Dwoskin

Born on August 25, 1927, Terry spent her nearly century-long life standing up for justice, carving out a dynamic career, and deeply shaping the lives of her family and community.

Terry was a woman of profound conviction who spent her adult years putting her beliefs into action. She was an advocate for equal rights for all, lending her voice, time, and fierce energy to both the civil rights and women's rights movements. During a turbulent era in American history, she was also an active anti-Vietnam War activist, marching and organizing to help bring about a more peaceful world.

Alongside her dedicated activism, Terry built a remarkable, multi-faceted professional life. She began her working journey as a dietitian at Montefiore Hospital in the Bronx, using her knowledge of health and nutrition to care for patients. Showing her creative flair and eye for design, she later transitioned into interior decorating, transforming empty spaces into beautiful homes. Her final career was as a home economics teacher in the New York City public school system, where she combined her diverse talents to mentor, teach, and inspire generations of young students.

In the twilight of her life, Terry was limited by the gradual loss of memory. During these final years, she lived in Boynton Beach, Florida. For the last 19 years of her life, she was unable to actively participate in much of what she held dear. Though this illness kept her from the front lines of the causes and hobbies she loved, the fierce spirit, intelligence, and passion that defined her earlier years remained unforgettable to those who knew her.

Above all, Terry was a proud mother and grandmother. She leaves behind a rich legacy of strength, resilience, and compassion. Terry is survived by her two loving sons, James and Hale, and her two cherished grandchildren, Nicholas and Rebecca, all of whom carry forward her bright spark and enduring values.

She was preceded in death by her beloved son, Allan. She was also preceded in death by her two husbands, Samuel Dwoskin, the devoted father of her children, and Harry Feinberg. She is now peacefully reunited with them all.

The family is deeply indebted to Lisa Kennedy and her team who took care of Terry in her final years. Thank you for treating her with such dignity, compassion, and respect.
