Addie Maxine Coffman

ADDIE MAXINE BEASLEY COFFMAN (Maxine) age 89 of Houston, TX passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 4, 2023. Maxine was born July 11, 1933 to the late Ollie Cleveland Beasley and Lela Lula Beasley. Maxine was a graduate of Rusk High School and worked for Citizens Industrial Insurance Company in Rusk. Maxine met the love of her life, Arthur Coffman Jr., they had a long distance relationship for a couple of years while Arthur worked in the construction industry in Houston, TX and traveled back and forth to Rusk, TX every weekend. Maxine and Arthur were married on February 4, 1956 and moved to Houston. They welcomed a son into the world in November, 1958. Upon the birth of their son, Maxine chose to retire and take care of her family and home. Once everyone’s children were in school full time, Maxine and her friends became professional shoppers; you could routinely find them enjoying each other’s company at one of the many local shopping malls around Houston. Maxine was a long time member of Galena Park United Methodist Church until its closing and Jacinto City United Methodist Church afterwards. Maxine was a regular at tailgates and Texas A&M home football games for many years after her grandchildren became Fighting Texas Aggies. Maxine was preceded in death by her loving husband Arthur Coffman Jr., parents Ollie and Lela Beasley, Sister Nelda Collins and her husband Floyd, nephew Randy Collins, as well as numerous cousins. Maxine leaves behind to cherish her memory her son Doug Coffman and his wife Laura; grandson Blake Coffman and wife Emily and great-grandson Oliver (Ollie), grandson Reece Coffman; along with many other family members and friends.

Visitation will be Thursday, January 12, 2023 from 12:00 to 1:00 PM at Grand View Funeral Home, 8501 Spencer Highway, Pasadena, TX 77505. A funeral service celebrating Maxine’s life will be held Thursday, January 12, 2023 at from 1:00 to 2:00 PM in The Chapel of Grand View Funeral Home. A graveside service will follow at Grand View Memorial Park/Bethany Cemetery 8501 Spencer Highway, Pasadena, TX 77505.
