

Agnes Mae Thielen passed away May 25, 2026, at Memorial Hermann Hospital – Katy,
Texas from injuries related to a motor vehicle accident.
She was born May 12, 1940, in Houston, TX, to John Charles Clarence Thielen and
Minnie Mae (Mobley) Thielen.
Born in Houston shortly after the Great Depression, Agnes overcame significant
hardship in childhood and carried those early experiences with her throughout her
life. Agnes learned early the value of hard work, gratitude, resilience, and family. She chose to be baptized at an early age at Woodland Baptist Church - Houston, Texas.
In 1960, Agnes graduated from Reagan High School in her hometown. Agnes worked
in accounting for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company for 30 years. After many
fulfilling years, she retired in 1989. Not ready to just relax at home, she found new
friends in her co-workers at Garden Ridge Pottery though out the 1990’s.
She loved traveling around America and the world with family and friends. She found
beauty and relaxation in her garden, sharing the bounty with neighbors.
Those who knew her will remember her intelligence, quiet humor, generosity,
determination, and the deep satisfaction she found in building a meaningful life on her
own terms.
She is survived by her sister, Mary Walker and brother John F. Thielen, his wife
Beverly; nephew, Kerry Thielen, his wife Wendy, nephew, Gregory Thielen, his wife
Trish. Her niece Keisha Whitbey and husband Larry Whitbey; great niece Sierra
(Thielen) Mears and husband Cody; great niece Rachel (Thielen), her husband Chance,
great nephews John Thielen, his wife Destiny and Adam Thielen.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her younger brother, Tommy Thielen,
nephew, Jerry Walker, and brother-in-law, Jack Walker.
In reflecting on Agnes’ life, one is drawn to the enduring sense of peace she instilled in
her family and friends. Her footsteps may now have quieted, but the echoes of her
kindness, her laughter, and her unwavering warmth will forever trail like a gentle
breeze through the memories of those who loved her. Ms. Agnes Mae Thielen’s life
was a tapestry woven with love, resilience, and a spirit that soared free.
Visitation will be held at Grand View Funeral Home, 8501 Spencer Highway, Pasadena, TX 77505, US, on June 5, 2026, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm.
A Funeral Service will take place at Grand View Funeral Home, 8501 Spencer Highway, Pasadena, TX 77505, US, on June 5, 2026, from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm.
A Committal Service will follow at Grand View Funeral Home & Memorial Park/Bethany Cemetery, 8501 Spencer Hwy, Pasadena, TX 77505, US, on June 5, 2026, from 1:00 pm to 1:30 pm.
