

Allen was born on August 17, 1953, to Lester and Ruth Coffey. He grew up in Houston, where he formed lifelong friendships at Smiley High School and Hibbard Memorial Baptist Church.
On June 7, 1974, Allen married the love of his life, Sandra (Smith) Coffey. Together they built a home filled with faith, love, and laughter. Allen worked as a Process Operator at LyondellBasell, where he was known for his strong work ethic, compassion for others, and quick wit.
Allen will be remembered for his deep faith, generous heart, and kind spirit. He especially cherished serving in the Deer Park community, attending church, and spending time with his wife, children, and granddaughters. His greatest joy was being “PawPaw.”
Allen is survived by: his wife, Sandra Coffey, children, Justin Coffey and Amanda English, granddaughters, Evelyn and Cailyn English, siblings, Kent Coffey and Cindy Miller, and many other beloved family members and friends who will miss him dearly
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lester and Ruth Coffey.
A Celebration of Life will be held in the chapel at First Baptist Church, Pasadena, Texas, on Friday, December 12. Visitation will begin at 12:00 p.m., with the Celebration of Life service starting at 1:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to his two granddaughters’ college funds in Allen’s honor. Knowing that their future is secure would be the greatest gift Allen could receive.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Kent Coffey and the staff at MD Anderson for their compassionate care and support during Allen’s battle with leukemia over the past year. Kent’s constant presence and devotion were a tremendous blessing to Allen and the entire family.
Allen’s love, faith, generosity, and the stories he shared will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
