Antonia Estrada Martinez

Antonia (Tonia) Estrada Martinez, 74, of Pasadena, Texas, passed away Thursday, May 12, 2011. Tonia was born June 16, 1936 in Freeport, Texas to Enrique and Vicenta Estrada. Tonia and her husband Paul were members of The Sociedad Mutualista of Miguel Hidalgo for 42 years. Tonia was an Officer and her husband Paul as The Registered Agent of The Sociedad. She was also one of the 1st women to become a Member. Tonia was a devout Catholic and a member of San Juan Diego parish for 45 years. Her parents, sisters, Rafaela Pucket and Enedina Guzman, brother, Daniel Estrada all precede Tonia in death. Toni is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, Paul Martinez, her daughter Melinda Martinez and her sons, Henry Martinez and Ernest Martinez and wife Melissa; 8 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. Tonia also leaves behind her 2 brothers, Abraham and Guadalupe Estrada of Brazoria, Texas and 2 sisters Luisa Perez of Angleton, Texas and Mary Serna of Auburn, Washington; As well as numerous family members and loving friends. Tonia was also loved by many and will be greatly missed. Tonia was battling Acute Myelogenous Leukemia at MD Anderson, after a long and hard 4 months of fighting, Tonia lost her battle to cancer and passed Thursday morning. For those of us left behind grieve not, but let us cherish our memories of this remarkable and loving woman. A Visitation will be held Sunday, May 15, 2011 from 6-8 PM with a rosary being recited at 7 PM at Grand View Funeral Home 8501 Spencer Highway Pasadena, TX 77505. Funeral Services will be held Monday, May 16, 2011 at 1 PM in the Chapel of Grand View Funeral Home with Burial to follow at Grand View Memorial Park.
