Arley “A.J.” Johnson McCord Jr., 67, of Katy, TX was born in Pasadena, TX on October 14, 1952 and passed away on Wednesday, September 23, 2020. He was the second of five children born to Frankie Juanita and Arley Johnson McCord.
Growing up, A.J. attended Pasadena High School and after graduation began his career in oil/rig engineering. A.J. was married to Susan Santos. In 2018, A.J. retired and enjoyed his time breeding budgies and being involved in bird shows. His greatest joys were hunting, guns, and his budgies. He was involved in the Budgerigar Association and the Bird Show Winners. He was a member of Second Baptist Church. A.J. will be remembered for his sense of humor, being a storyteller, animal lover, and hunter.
A.J. is preceded in death by his father, Arley Johnson McCord; mother, Frankie Juanita McCord ; and sister, Ginger McCord. He is survived by his wife, Susan McCord and daughter, Mabel McCord, as well as special friends, Manit, Yu, Jules, Sunny, Joe, and Larry.
