Bartolo was born on August 24, 1940, in Cuero, Texas. In the early 1960s, he moved to Houston, where he began building a life through hard work and determination. He later settled in La Porte in the early 1970s, a community he proudly called home for many years.
A dedicated and hardworking man, Bartolo’s career reflected his commitment to providing for his family. He began working in the furniture and upholstery industry before becoming an operator at an oil refinery. Never one to stop learning, he attended San Jacinto College, where he received hands-on training as an electrician. Through his dedication and perseverance, he advanced in his career and eventually became an Electrical Engineer.
Outside of work, Bartolo found joy in playing softball, volleyball, bowling, and fishing. He also had a passion for carpentry and was happiest when building, repairing, or installing something with his own hands. Whether it was a home improvement project or helping someone in need, he took great pride in his craftsmanship and was always willing to lend a helping hand.
Above all else, Bartolo loved his family. He will be remembered for his strong work ethic, determination, and the example he set through a lifetime of perseverance and love.
Bartolo was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Elida C. Garcia.
He is survived by his five sons, Mike, David, Joel, Richard, and Tomas Garcia; his companion, Hilda Bidales; and other loving family and friends.
Though he will be deeply missed, his legacy of hard work, resilience, and devotion to his family will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
