Betty Ruth Hargraves

Betty Ruth Hargraves was born March 9,1932 to Raymond Lewis Dodson and Ruth Lora Dodson in Greenville, Texas and went to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Tuesday, August 24, 2021, at the age of 89. Betty graduated from Conroe High School in Conroe, Texas where she played basketball. Shortly after graduating, she went to work at Brown & Root where she met and married her late husband, Ike Hargraves. They were married for 64 years. During that time, they made their home in Texas, the Dominican and Scotland, traveling the world in the process. Betty loved her family and loved having her family around her. There was always coffee and something sweet when you went to her home. She will be greatly missed by all of her family and friends.

Betty is preceded in death by her parents, Raymond Lewis Dodson and Ruth Lora Dodson; her husband Ike Hargraves; sister Marguerite Cupps; brothers Raymond Louis Dodson and Robert Jack Dodson. She is survived by her son Ray Hargraves and wife Denise. Granddaughters Laura Hargraves Carl, husband Michael, and Cheyenne Hargraves and Great-granddaughters Annette and Charlotte Carl. She is also survived by her sister Peggy Deisher and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held Friday, September 3, 2021 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Grand View Funeral Home, 8501 Spencer Highway, Pasadena, Texas 77505, followed by a funeral service from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM with Dr. John Deisher, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow at a later date at Houston National Cemetery, 10410 Veterans Memorial Drive, Houston, Texas 77038.
