Billie Jean was born April 27, 1929 to John Ralph Knight and Frances Irene Russell Knight in Whitney, Texas. She moved to Pasadena, Texas at the age of 11 and attended Jackson Junior High and Pasadena High School. She graduated class of 1946 before going on to college to receive her BBA. She worked for the University of Houston as a secretary until 1953 to become a stay-at-home mom until 1956 when she returned to work substituting for the Pasadena Independent School District until 1965 when she began teaching at Sam Rayburn High School until her retirement in 1990.
Billie Jean had a passion for her family, researching her genealogy and anyone else who asked, reading romance novels, and watching games shows - never missing an episode of Jeopardy or Wheel of Fortune. But her real passion was traveling the world with her teacher friends and family. Billie Jean traveled to every continent and visited places many will only dream of. She instilled the love of adventure into many who loved her!
