Billy Edgar Parnell, 88, of Pasadena, Texas, returned to his heavenly home on June14, 2018. His devotion to his family and his firm belief in God supported him in his struggle and ultimately gave him peace.
Billy was born to Bill and Willie Parnell, in Lott, TX, July 28, 1929. From an early age he was immersed in the Christian community, which would be a lifelong support. He was an acolyte for his Father, and taught youths to students to adults.
Billy graduated from Pasadena High School in 1946 and immediately went to work at Shell Refinery in Deer Park, TX. He quickly rose through the ranks and became the district manager of the department where he began his career.
He married Lela Mae Robertson on September 12, 1949 and they are now reunited in heaven. Billy is survived by his children: daughter, Judy Parnell; son, Robert Parnell and wife, Felice; daughter, Darleine Parnell-Gay and husband Mike. His grandchildren: Granddaughter, Christina Lawson; grandson, Rob Lawson; grandson, Sean Parnell. His brother, Don Parnell; sister, Betty Wright and husband Rob. Along with many other relatives and close friends.
From the very beginning, Billy dedicated his children to God and encouraged them to explore the beauty of the gospels. He was kind and soft-spoken and always had time to answer a question or solve a problem, no matter how small. He is dearly missed by his loved ones, who celebrate the fact that he is at peace with his creator.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 19, 2018, from 5:00 to 8:00pm at Grand View Funeral Home, 8501 Spencer Hwy, Pasadena, TX 77505.
