

Carl Vernon Corbitt 84 died on December 3rd, 2010 in League City, TX after a long battle with lung cancer. Carl was born December 10, 1925 in Savona, NY to parents, Agnes Ridley Corbitt and Fred Lee Corbitt. He is preceded in death by both parents, son, Dennis Todd Corbitt, former wife, Nora Ann Corbitt, brother Willis Corbitt, and sister, Marge Van Cise. Carl was a veteran of World War II and served as a Seaman 1st class in the Navy. He received an honorable discharge December 8, 1945. He retired from Reynolds Metals Company in 1986 where he worked as an electrician for 30 years. Most of his adult life was spent in Corpus Christi, TX where he and his wife raised their 5 children. Carl loved his family and they enjoyed spending time together. Surf fishing on Padre Island and photography were two of his favorite past times. He was always proud to assist friends and family, sharing his expert knowledge of electrical, mechanical & HVAC skills. Carl is survived by his sister Audrey Holmes of Savona, NY; two son’s Richard Corbittt and wife Sharman of Canyon Lake, TX; Barry Corbitt and wife Ann of League City, TX; his two daughter’s Cheri Hambrick and husband Joe of Seabrook, TX; Barbara Sinex and husband Dave of Hume, VA; 10 grandchildren whom he was fondly referred to as “Grampa” or “Bompa”; Christopher and Kevin Corbitt, Chad Corbitt, Britney Carroll, Kimberly Swanson and Candice Anaya; Todd Corbitt; Jason and Justin Holmes; Rachel and John Sinex. He was blessed with 13 great grandchildren and many loving nieces and nephews. Special thanks to the Hospice Care Team and the associates of Regal Estates for their support and kindness. A Graveside service will be held Tuesday, December 7th, 2010, 2:00pm at Grand View Memorial Park.
