Carla Cortez-Quintero

Carla Cortez-Quintero, beloved wife, mother, sister, and friend, passed away leaving behind a family who will forever carry her memory in their hearts.

Carla was born in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, and grew up in New Orleans, Louisiana, a city that remained close to her heart throughout her life. She later made her home in La Porte, Texas.

Carla is survived by her beloved husband, Savior Lopez Quintero, and her three children, who were the pride of her life: her oldest daughter, Angelica Marie Rodriguez, followed by her son, Matthew “Austin Miguel” Cundiff, and her youngest son, Antonio Angel Salvador Quintero. She is also survived by her brother, Ramon Scott Cortez, and four other siblings.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Elizabeth Ann Smith and Carlos Pablo Cortez.

Carla was a woman with a larger-than-life personality and a heart that gave generously to those she loved. She was fiercely loyal and protective of her family and friends, always ready to stand up for the people she cared about. She had a generous spirit and was a giving woman who would help others and give from her heart.

Having grown up in New Orleans, Carla carried her love for the city and its traditions with her throughout her life. She was a proud New Orleans Saints fan and supported her team with unwavering loyalty. She looked forward to celebrating Mardi Gras and loved the energy, excitement, and traditions that made New Orleans so special to her.

Carla enjoyed the fun things in life. She loved crawfish, gold jewelry, and any opportunity to dress up and spend time with loved ones. She also had a special lifelong love for Betty Boop and was an avid collector, surrounding herself with pieces that reflected her fun and unique personality.

Carla will be remembered not only for the things she loved, but for the way she loved the people in her life. She was strong, loyal, protective, generous, and unforgettable. Her presence could fill a room, and the memories she created with those who knew and loved her will continue to be cherished for years to come.

Though she is no longer with us, Carla's love and spirit will live on through her husband, her children, her family, and everyone fortunate enough to have known her. She will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever held in the hearts of those who loved her.
