Catherine, originally from Fairway, Kansas, attended Rockhurst University in Kansas City, Missouri. She graduated from the University of Texas at Arlington with a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Nursing. Catherine was dedicated to nursing and relished her career as a Surgical Nurse.
As a child she liked trailblazing a path for other girls to follow, from being the first girl to play on a boys soccer league in Johnson County, Kansas to being the first girl to be offered a basketball scholarship to a Kansas City High School. She was an enthusiastic nature lover and sought outdoor adventures at every opportunity. She enjoyed traveling throughout Europe on her multiple trips. She was active in the community and supported the World War II Honor Flight Program.
Catherine is survived by her husband, Alan McCullough, of Pasadena, Texas, her mother, Terri Greenwell, and sister, Dr. Suzanne Ring, D.O. of Overland Park, Kansas and her uncle Joseph Greenwell, of Richmond, Texas.
A memorial fund has been established in her honor and contributions may be made to the Catherine M. Ring Memorial Nursing Scholarship, Rockhurst University Office of Advancement, 1100 Rockhurst Road, Kansas City, MO 64110
