Charles Walter Franklin

Charles Walter Franklin known to loved ones and friends as “Papa”, was born September 7, 1947, to William O. & Berta Lucille (Lee) Franklin in Durham N.C. passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on March 29, 2023.

He is preceded in death by his parents, sisters Betty Jane Hudson and Bertha Lenore O’Neal. Left to cherish his memory are his sisters Joyce Faith Fletcher, Shirley Kaye and her spouse, Daniel Ravennaugh all of Brooksville, FL., as well as his beloved son Sean Franklin, his wife Rachel, their children, Haley Franklin her finance Gabriel Garcia, Cutter Taylor, and Austin Franklin. Papa also leaves behind his precious great grandsons, Noah Garcia, Hayes Franklin and Lucca Garcia.

Charles served in the Vietnam War as a United States Marine. He retired as a mechanic from Coca-Cola on September 28, 2012. Charles spent the remainder of his life spending time with his children and spoiling his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

A visitation and celebration of life will be held on Monday, April 10, 2023, at 9:00 AM at Grand View Funeral Home. 8501 Spencer Highway, Pasadena, Texas 77505. A reception will occur Monday, April 10, 2023, at 12:00 PM at the Franklin Family Home.
