Charles Ray Nutt Sr., 86, of Clear Lake City, TX passed away at home surrounded by family on December 2, 2019 after a valiant battle with cancer. Charles Ray was born January 3, 1933 in Carthage, TX to Grady Nutt Sr. and Valera Wyatt Nutt. The 4th of 7 children, Charles Ray attended Carthage schools graduating from Carthage High School. It was in high school where he met the love of his life J’Nell Courtney and together they celebrated 66 years of marriage. Charles Ray had a career of 45 years in the service station industry. He loved his family, the Houston Texans and driving around in his truck. Charles Ray was a guy’s guy and a charmer who never met a stranger.
Charles Ray Sr. is survived by his loving and devoted wife J’Nell Nutt; sons Rickey and wife Carol, Dwain and wife Linda, Chuck and wife Tracy; grandchildren, Chris, Neal, Eric and wife Brittney, Lauren and Kendall; great grand children, Alex, Rickey and Mikael.
The Nutt family wishes to convey their sincere thanks and gratitude to Dr. Anish Meerasahib and staff of Deke Slayton Texas Oncology and the staff of the oncology unit on the 5th floor at HCA Clear Lake Medical Center. The family would also like to thank the staff at Providence Hospice for their care and support.
Funeral service will be held, 2 P.M., Saturday December 7, 2019 at Grand View Memorial Park, 8501 Spencer Highway, Pasadena, Texas with visitation beginning at 1 P.M. until time of service.
