Charles Joseph Schoppa Jr.

Charles Joseph Schoppa, Jr., 71, of Pasadena, TX, reposed in the Lord on December 9, 2023. He was born in Baytown, TX, on December 3, 1952 to Charles Schoppa Sr. and Viola Ruth Schoppa. He was married to his loving wife Theresa for 21 years.

He worked for the DuPont company for 42 years as a supervisor. With Theresa, he was a devoted member of the Catholic Charismatic Center in Houston, TX, where they partnered in prayer ministry for many years. Countless people attribute their healing and deliverance to Charles’ and Theresa’s loving intercession and care. There was nothing he enjoyed more than prayer and serving God’s people alongside his wife, Theresa. Charles had many hidden talents, including dancing and inventing creative recipes in the kitchen.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Viola Schoppa, and his sister, Deborah Khuel.

He is survived by his wife Theresa, his two sons: James Schoppa with his wife Mistie and their son Ethan Meredith; and Brent Schoppa with his sons Cullen, Luke, and Travis; Theresa’s sons: Eric Hudson with his wife Meredith and their children: Noah and Caleb Hudson, Sofia, and Reagen with his wife Mytuva and their two daughters; and A. J. Hudson with his wife Brandy and their daughters Alexis and Alena; his father-in-law Cruz Morales, Jr. with his wife Lupe, and many spiritual children.

A visitation for Charles will be held Thursday, December 14, 2023 from 4:00 to 5:00 PM for family, and from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM for the public followed by mass at the Catholic Charismatic Center, 1939 Cullen Blvd, Houston, TX 77023. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday, December 15 at 10:30 AM beginning with the Divine Mercy Chaplet at 10:00 AM at the Catholic Charismatic Center with burial following at the Grand View Funeral Home, 8501 Spencer Hwy, Pasadena, TX 77505. A reception will follow at the Catholic Charismatic Center.
