The soul is limitless” “Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me” Psalm 23:4 “He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away” Revelation 21:4

Christena, I will remember you big caring heart, your helpful hands and the way you brought smiles to all of us. You were part of Southeast in so many ways. You were there when things were tough and there to celebrate successes. You always carried a flag for Southeast and proud of the work we did. You made an imprint on all of us. Rest In Peace, you will be missed and treasured forever.

Christena, Where to even start.
From the first time I met you I knew you were special. You had the best most welcoming bright smile. You were always there for me when I needed you. One of the last quality times we had together I will cherish forever. We where almost through the peak of covid. I just needed a little break and to feel a sense of normalcy. Valeh was screening and I went and sat outside with her for a bit. That’s when you walked up with your smile and jokes, you always had the best one liners. The three of us sat out there for a bit just catching up and laughing. For a moment I felt like everything was like it should be. I had to go back inside so I gave y’all an air hug and we talked about how “when all this mess is over” I can finally give y’all a real hug again. It wasn’t that long ago I skipped down the hall to look at Yalls new office and you were laughing. You said I sounded like a horse running down the hallway. Thank you for showing us unconditional love, what it’s like to be a true friend, and how to bring joy to everyone in every situation. I’ll miss your smile, your witty jokes, and your wise counsel. Until I get to see you again and get that real hug. I sure do love and miss you, Ma.

I met Christena just a few short years ago when my office was across the hall from hers. I loved listening to her conversations with Nanny! It left such a lasting impression on me on how someone can give so much of themselves to take care of another person. I also remember the vacation planning and the birthday celebrations that Valeh and Christena would do for one another! What a special friendship they have! Lastly, her HCA family could always count on her to speak up with that positive vibe. It was such a pleasure getting to know you. I will miss you! Deneise Fryar

You will be so missed Christena! I knew you as a little girl, when our mothers shared a very close friendship. You played with my younger sisters one of whom (Chari) who died just two years ago on Oct. 14, likely met you at the gates of Heaven to usher you in, along with all the other sweet family members who passed before you.

I became a colleague of yours at Bayshore 30+ years later. When I saw you the first time in a manager meeting, I knew right away that was you, and we shared the warmest hug. Your work ethic, morals and your innate empathy is something that is truly needed at that facility, and you were just the person to emulate these high standards, and you did that without apology. You lead by example, and this is actually the greatest form of leadership.

My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family....fly high my friend and tell Chari and your Mom can say, "Hi!!."

Christena was such an Awesome and Compassionate Nurse. I first
met her in 2012 when I came to work at Bayshore in the Quality
Management Department. She was a Charge Nurse on IMCU and
we had the opportunity to work together teaching the nursing staff about CORE Measures. When she saw you in the hallway or on the elevator, she always greeted you with a smile. I can still remember her laughter.
Prayer of Comfort for her family,

Christena, you will be forever loved and forever missed. We love you so much. I can't bring myself to terms with losing you right now, but I know that God will heal our broken hearts in time. You were such an inspiration to everyone. You showed us all what unconditional love, friendship, kindness, and companionship was. You were a beautiful example of what we should all strive to be in this world. What comforts us now is knowing that you did live life to the fullest. You did bless us all with your fun, happy and always positive attitude. You were so strong through life and never showed your stress or sorrows. I will certainly miss hearing about your next vacation plans before you had even finished unpacking from the previous trip. As I would tell you, "you are one of God's greatest gifts to this world." Now we know that your life was measured by the quality of your time here on Earth and not by its quantity. Thank you for the abundant laughs and joy you brought into our lives. Until we are reunited, my sweet cousin Christena, I will carry you in my heart.

Christena, My heart is broken and I will miss you a lot. Your positive energy and beautiful smile will be missed. It is hard to walk in to the hospital building without you. You would always ensure to say hello to each and every person you meet . I know you for the last 10 years and I don't have words to explain the pain I am feeling on your absence.

I had the opportunity to speak with Christena at length about her grandmother. I was awed by the tender loving care Christena gave to her beloved grandmother. What a kind and loving person Christena was. She will be missed. My condolences to her family.
