Colton James Childers passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 26, 2015 at Texas Children's Hospital. He was surrounded by his family and the sound of worship. He received his angel's wings after fighting a near year long battle from complications following his liver transplant on January 4, 2015.
Colton was born on May 23, 2011 to Brynn and Teresa Childers. As the family often says, he completed their family portrait. Colton was always happy, very curious, and a little mischievous. He adored his big sister, Alexis, and often copied her actions and movements. He loved the water and hated to be dirty. Colton had a smile that lit up any room. Although he was often perceived to be shy and quiet, he was really very funny and a bit of a ham. He loved music, animals, and reading books. He was the most loving and compassionate little boy. One of his favorite things to say was "I love you big much."
Colton was born with a liver disease, but he never let that limit him. Even in the hospital, he would make his doctors and nurses laugh and smile. He was stronger than anyone knew he was capable of being. He had more strength, determination, and courage in the face of adversity than most. And even though his life was tragically cut short, Colton made an impact on so many that will last for years to come. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him, and even those who never had the opportunity to meet him face to face. He is our miracle.
