I will always remember his infectious laugh and good moods. He was a joy to be around and brightened up any room he was in. Anytime you were working with Cortney was guaranteed to be a good time. All of his brothers feel his loss tremendously and will never forget him. I am so thankful to his family for sharing him with us for so many days over these past 8 years. As many hours as we spent together, it still wasn’t enough. May he rest in the Lord’s eternal peace. We’ll keep the lights on from here, bub.

Having worked with Clark over the years, I will remember him as a man of god, loving family man and a good friend.  He was always smiling and cracking jokes at work.  He will be missed

Last year on Christmas Eve Clark was running the big crew. I remember it being so cold and rainy and just wanting to go home. Of course we got held and had to work all night until 6am Christmas Day. Every job that day was hard, but all the laughs and jokes Clark would make kept the day going. At one point we had finished changing out a transformer in the rain and we were all muddy and soaked. The next door neighbor to the house we were working on came out and gave us cokes and what they called “Christmas crack” it was a sweet mixture of Chex mix but the second Clark heard what they called it the jokes were on. Needless to say we had a great night working and Clark finished the whole thing of “Christmas crack” and if I remember correctly his wife showed up on a job that night to bring him food. All in all it was a fun night because of Clark keeping everything light hearted and turning anything into a joke or laughter. I miss him already coming down the dock and grabbing anyone who was working with him that day saying “you’re with big daddy today”. he was truly a one of one character with energy unmatched goofy as could be. - Cayge 6th 6 months apprentice

One of my favorite memories of Clark is something small that says everything about who he was. Every morning he’d take a bite of his breakfast taco, swallow it, and then take a straight sip of salsa—like it was a drink. It grossed me out every single time, and he knew it, which somehow made it even funnier. Clark was the only person I’ve ever seen do that, and I don’t think anyone else ever could.

Clark also taught me how to cook in my “fancy” stainless steel pots and pans that I couldn’t figure out to save my life. After scraping my third fried egg off the bottom of the pan, I finally called him for help. He calmly explained that you cook on an oil layer—you cook on the oil, not the stainless steel. Just like that, problem solved. That was Clark: practical, patient, and always willing to help, even with something as small as breakfast.

He was incredibly proud of his picture with David Allen Co., and you could tell how much that moment meant to him. When we worked together, we always had old classic country playing—those songs will forever remind me of him.

Clark had a mischievous side too. It wasn’t unusual for someone to cover their nipple when walking past him, because if you weren’t careful, Clark would purple-nurple the crap out of you. It was all part of his humor, and it always ended in laughter.

And I don’t think there will ever be another left-handed ping pong player like Clark. In my book, he was the best there ever was.

Clark brought humor, pride, and joy into everyday moments. I’m grateful for the time I had working beside him and proud to call him my brother.

I want to share so much about Cortney “Lee” Clark. Me and my family moved to Deer Park, in 2011 in which I started working as a LDAR Technician at the chemical plants, as I had recently lost my brother at a young age 32 to be exact, my wife had started working at a restaurant called Mooyah Burgers. A young kid with a smile bigger and brighter than I believe he realized Cortney “Lee” was the grill cook. I would bring the kids to see there mom and eat a burger and pick her up from work and since I was some what young began working nights while also pulling 4x10’ s in the plants you know work hard and make your dreams come true.. haha me and Lee would close the place down eventually I can remember running back and forth on that burger line side bye side back and forth on who could cook a better burger till we both just said we were great as a team. We started hanging out I was 29 now 43 Lee was 24 so he was hot on the market and wanted to enjoy his younger years bud light to Jack n coke so I was like man no reason to drink alone and our late nights started. Lee was always wanting to fire up the grill cause we know it’s southern hospitality after a year or so I talked Lee into getting a Job with me at EMS and we had the same schedule Monday-Thursday 5a-5p out at TPC about 6-months of him being there I was moved to the field office still we had same schedule so many nights from ufc fight nights to superbowl parties best ever smoked tomato 🍅 salsa 💃 and I have never in my life had a better salsa Lee constantly talking about going to chef school but adhd got bored with it thanksgiving visits and hanging out for weekends on my couch felt like his big brother at times…haha making sure he was good his David Allen Coe boots and hat to stunning dance moves haha and road trips doing LDAR and hotel stays. We never argued always had fun. Moved to SC in 16 and kept in contact through socials this was Nov ‘24 when we were visiting and I gave him a secret chz sauce 😂

Jacob Sumney out of the south houston service center, I have worked with Clark since the very beginning of his career, I’m sure you guys have seen how close we become over the years working so many hours together,  Clark was special to our service center, from the jokes, the story’s the cooking lessons to the throwing up from the food he ate,  Through these hard time just know you can reach out at anytime! I also have a son the same age as Clark’s boy, May he be manning a bbq pit with a beer looking over all of us!

I was introduced to Lee—who I knew as Cortney—years ago. He was my husband Vincent’s apprentice when I first met him while Vincent was working. I remember hearing his country accent and asking where he was from, expecting him to say somewhere like Tennessee. When he said “Katy,” I laughed out loud, and he just smiled.

Another time, he came to my crawfish boil with his newborn baby while Johanna was working. I remember asking him, “Are you sure you should be in charge of a newborn?” He smiled and said he was staying sober. There was never any doubt—he was such a good dad. You could see it in the way he held his baby, so calm and proud.

He will be missed more than words can say. The world feels quieter without him, missing his smile, his laughter, and the gentle way he showed up for the people he loved. His presence brought warmth, and his absence is felt deeply.

To Johanna—please know how loved he was and how much these memories mean to us. Our hearts are with you and your children, holding you close in every thought and prayer. He will always be remembered.

When Lee was a young boy we were neighbors. One day I went to look for my kids who were playing with Lee at another neighbor's house. On the way I killed a really mean looking snake that was blocking the sidewalk. I threw it in a ditch and went on about my business. Later that evening, Lee came to our house and knocked on the door. When I answered the door Lee was crying and asked me if I had seen his pet snake. I did not have the heart to tell him what had happened. Years later I told Lee this story. He did not remember the snake but he thought the story was hilarious.
