

Cristina was born in San Benito, Texas on August 11, 1929 to Patricio and Paula Aguilera. Cristina was raised in a Christian home. She was saved at an early age and she was an active member of Primera Iglesia Bautista in San Benito. She graduated from the Valley Baptist Academy and then went to attend Pan American College. She worked for the Home Mission Board and taught kindergarten in Edinburg, Texas.
During this time of her life she met the love of her life Matias V. Quintanilla. They married on August 25, 1957. Together they raised three sons, Matias Jr., Daniel and Dwight David, and two daughters, Luisa and Ruth.
Cristina had a passion for serving her Lord and caring for her family. She served along her husband in the many churches that he pastored during his fifty plus years in ministry. She loved children and was a teacher’s aide for many years in the different communities they served. She will be remembered for her delicious cooking, especially her perfectly round flour tortillas, her singing and her wonderful sense of humor.
Cristina was preceded in death by her parents Patricio and Paula Aguilera and her husband Matias. Cristina is survived by her sister Paula (Joe Espinoza). She is also survived by her son Matias Jr (Eva), Daniel (Genie), Dwight David (Priscilla), Luisa (Freddy Montoya) and Ruth Alvarado. Cristina will also be fondly remembered by her fourteen grandchildren and twenty-five great grandchildren.
The funeral service will be held on Friday October 16 at 10 AM at the Grand View Funeral Home 8501 Spencer Hwy, Pasadena, TX with interment at the Grand View Memorial Park. Visitation will be held on Thursday October 15 from 5 until 8 PM.
