Our memory of Dave is his wonderful smile and infectious laugh. While in Michigan at the training school, we went to dinner one night and Dave insisted we have a "bloomin onion". It was a first for us. We were given a booth because the restaurant was really full so 6 of us squeezed into a booth and began our meal with that onion. It was a first of many fun nights with Dave & Marty. You will be missed but we know you are smiling in heaven.

As the days have passed bye since you have left your pain and suffering behind to a much more peaceful and tranquil place, I'm reminded of what a big impact you made on my decision making in my life, I also knew that you helped many different people in so many ways. I've had so many people come forth and share how you impacted so many of them outside of our own family. You were always involved with your family, country, community and church. I personally couldn't have had a better example of a person I would want to be. You left behind some really big shoes to fill, which I cant do. But I do promise, I will do everything I can to continue with your legacy for caring for others and giving back, that you demonstrated so many times. There will not be a day go bye that I will not think about you whether just passing time or while I'm doing something. Thank you for being the man and father you were . Love you always, until we meet again.

We've experienced over 45yrs. of being like minded Christians through work & play making memories with Dave & Marty. One fun memory was experiencing the Northwest blackout that happened Aug. 2003 affecting 8 states & 55 million people. We were all staying in Ann Arbor, Michigan for the United Association continuing education & national contest. An electrical grid blackout was caused by a software bug in a control room from Akron, Ohio. No electricity in hotels, & of course even the airport was shut down & most businesses. Dave & Marty graciously agreed to us riding back to Pasadena with them. They had already left by car, we were to fly home, but we caught up with them in Indianapolis, & turned in our rent car. We stopped over in Branson, Missouri, for a night of fun, caravaning with Sharon & Willy Leiber. The next morning we took the scenic route of hwy. 7 through the ozarks up & down hills & winding around many curves, stopping for breakfast at Cliff House on Lookout Mt. In Jasper Ark., viewing the beautiful hummingbirds & scenery. We preceded on our trip stopping at every hill billy gift shop & antigue shop collecting rocks along the roadside for Dave & Marty's yard..........Needless to say years of friendship, fellowship & many fond & loving memories. Memories become our stories & the treasures that make us smile & sometimes cry. We did not realuze we were making memories at the time we just thought we were having fun.
DAVE! "HAPPY TRAILS TO YOU, UNTIL WE MEET AGAIN"
