He is survived by his two sons Paul Sutphin and wife Ellen of Peel, Arkansas, Terry Sutphin and wife Linda of Pasadena, Texas; 6 grandchildren ; 6 great grandchildren and numerous other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents Jerome and Bertie Mae Sutphin and his loving wife of 49 years Pearl Sutphin.
Delbert was born in Stark, West Virginia and joined the navy in 1943. A Pacific War veteran, he later returned home to start a family and work in the coal mines. Wanting a better life for his children, he moved his family to Pasadena in 1963 where he went to work for Brown and Root at NASA Space Center. Delbert loved his family, a good game of cards and tinkering in his garage.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 26, 2014 from 4:00pm to 6:30pm at Grand View Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be held Monday, October 27, 2014 at 12:30pm.
