

Della Faye Krause passed away at the age of 82. She died peacefully, after 8 month battle with cancer, on December 27, 2016 at the home of her Son, Charles (Leticia) Krause in Manvel, Texas. Faye was born on October 30, 1934 in Ooltewah, Tennessee, to Melvin Roy DeFriese and Mintie Lillie Mae DeFriese.
In addition to raising her two sons, Faye began her career with Woolworth in 1963, shortly after moving to South Houston, Texas. In 1997, she retired from Woolworth when they closed their stores.
Faye is preceded in death by her parents, Melvin and Mintie DeFriese, her Son, Richard Krause and three of her brothers, W. L. DeFriese, Joseph DeFriese and James DeFriese.
Faye is survived by one sister, Evelyn Mayhew of Ringgold, Georgia, three brothers, David DeFriese of Montgomery, Texas, Roy DeFriese, Dickinson, Texas and Donald Gene DeFriese, Chattanooga, Tennessee; four Grandchildren – Anthony (Elsa) Krause of Alice, Texas, Sabrina (Jody) Hall of Manvel, Texas, Chrissy Krause of Rosharon, Texas and Cody (Sarah) Krause of Houston, Texas; 13 great-grandchildren - Joseph Hall, Dylan Hall, Shelby Hall, Dakoda Hall, Kaitlyn Garner, Allen Garner, Ricky Esposito, Skylar Prouse, Jaxson Prouse. Olivia Krause, Travis Krause, Michael Krause, Victoria Krause and 2 great-great-grandchildren, Kenzi Krause and Luke Krause and numerous nieces, nephews and many others.
Faye’s joy in her life was her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. They will all remember her as the Grandmother who gave them ice cream for breakfast and who taught them to make her wonderful Pineapple Upside Down Cake.
Not only will Faye be missed by her family, but she will also be dearly missed by two of her friends whom she loved dearly, Louise Stevens and Tony Julian. She knew Louise for over 40 years and Tony for over twenty years. She shared many great times with both of these friends.
The visitation is at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 4, 2017, and will be immediately followed by the Funeral Service at 2:00 p.m. at the Grandview Funeral Home, 8501 Spencer Highway, Pasadena, Texas. Faye, per her wishes, will be buried next to her youngest son, Richard Krause, at the Grandview Cemetery.
