Denny and his family moved to Texas in the summer of 1957. He was a graduate of Sam Rayburn High School in Pasadena, Texas. Over the years, Denny had many careers, of which real estate was one. He had a true passion and loved the commercial side of real estate, of which he was very successful. He also worked for an instrument company, and loved working with people at the refineries. In time, he started his own instrument company and made it his goal to repair old instruments, and re-calibrate the ones he could.

The only son to Donald Gene McGrew and Irene McGrew, Denny moved in with his father and mother soon after his divorce, and after his father’s passing on October 13, 1997, he stayed to care for his mother. Most recently, Denny and his mother Irene lost their beloved dog, Brandy, of which they loved for many years. He also leaves behind Shay Johnson, Aaron Scott, Stephine Scott, Jennifer Wilkins, Luke Wilkins, Elizabeth Dalhstrom, Darren Edgar, Evanne Winograd, Daniel Edgar, Crystal Edgar, Lil Klein, Charles Sloan, Shawn Perrard. Denny was also a great uncle to Logan Scott, Alexander Edgar, Dominic Edgar, Andersen Wilkens, Namann Robert, Desirae Roberts and Emma Lee. Numerous other family members and friends also survive.

Denny was involved with the entire family - always there for births, birthdays, graduations, weddings and any family event that arose. He had talent and charm, and loved and adored all of his nieces and nephews - and wanted to simply make life fun. Uncle Denny lived a full life for most of his years on this Earth - and he truly adored and loved his family. He will definitely be missed.
