Doris Jean Morrison

Celebrating the Life of Doris Jean Jones Morrison, born on August 8, 1927. Doris was born in Ruston, Louisiana to parents L.W. and Pearl Allen Jones. She lived there until 1950 when she moved to Pasadena, Texas. She attended Ruston High School.

Doris was married to J.D. Morrison for 49 years. They had one daughter, Pat. Family was very important to Doris, especially her marriage to J.D. and raising a daughter. In her later years, she enjoyed time with two grandchildren and one great granddaughter. Doris was a member of South Main Baptist Church. Doris liked reading and music. She enjoyed spending time with special friends, Desi and Don Williams, Addie Denny, Pat and Frank Fuller and the rest of the Maverick Sunday School class.

Doris is preceded in death by her husband J.D. Morrison; parents L.W. and Pearl Jones; and her siblings -three brothers and two sisters. She is survived by her daughter Pat Butler and husband Kenneth; granddaughter April Butler; grandson Shane Butler and wife Kasey; great granddaughter Ashton Butler; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends for visitation on Monday, December 9, 2019 at 9:00am and funeral service will follow at 10:00am at Grand View Funeral Home, 8501 Spencer Highway, Pasadena, Texas.
