

Dorothy Elizabeth Hudson Dutcher, 96, died peacefully at her home on December 11, 2020. Dorothy, fondly known as Dot, was born to George Bryant Hudson and Elizabeth Bowen Hudson on August 26, 1924, in Philadelphia. Shortly thereafter, her parents moved the family to Wood-lake, Texas. Dot moved to Houston after high school graduation to attend Massey Business Col-lege. It was while living in Houston that she met and married Guy Ronald Dutcher. They settled in Pasadena, Texas, where they raised seven children, saw the birth of grandchildren, and where she continued to live her remaining years. Dot committed her life to being present for her family. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, friend, and faithful member of St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, Pasadena. She loved to garden, sew, play bridge, cook, read, and tend to her beloved pets. She enjoyed traveling the world and experiencing life with family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Guy Ronald Dutcher, her sons Donald Ray Dutcher and Larry David Dutcher, her parents George and Elizabeth Hudson, her sister Alix May Hudson LeMeilleur, and her brother George Bryant Hudson, Jr. She leaves to cherish her memory her children Guy Ronald Dutcher, Jr. and his wife Joana, Elizabeth Anne Dutcher Stin-son and her husband Charlie, Donna Alix Dutcher Schlein and her husband Larry, Dorothy Jean Dutcher Marshall and her husband Jim, Gwynedd Mary Dutcher White, and her daughter-in-law, Joyce Stewart Dutcher. She also leaves behind 16 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
A private graveside service will be held soon followed by a celebration of life service next year. In lieu of flowers or donations, the family asks that you honor Dot by way of thoughts and prayers.
