Dorothy Newton Fowler was born, September 6, 1936 in Liberty, Mississippi. Early in her life, Dorothy’s family moved to Baton Rouge, Louisiana where she attended school. In 1956 Bill and Dorothy were married and moved to Deer Park. Dorothy worked for the Deer Park Independent School District. While working, she obtained her Associate’s Degree in Nutrition. She retired as a Nutritionist Cafeteria Manager from DPISD.
She is survived by her sons: Keith and wife Carla; Kent and wife Sheila; Kris and wife Donna. Grandchildren: Kent W. Fowler Jr, Kolton J. Fowler, Kara N. Fowler and great grandson, Korbyn J. Fowler. Her brother Morris E. Newton Jr and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William M. Fowler, her parents, Morris and Louise Newton, her sister, Betty Koonce, and her grandson, Jeremy D. Fowler. She was a member Deer Park United Methodist Church. She had a passion for family, traveling, gardening, and volunteering at Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health with her sorority group.
