Dorothy Marie Hewett Hamilton, age 90, passed away on Monday Dec 26, 2022 at home in Pasadena, Texas. She was born on Oct 2, 1932 in Pampa, Texas to Howard and Nellie Hewett. Dorothy was married to Auther Hamilton on July 23, 1966. They were married for 41 years.
Dorothy graduated from Monahans High School in 1951. After school she got a job as a secretary at Pyote Airforce Base in Pyote, Texas. When that closed down she transferred to Kelly Airforce base in San Antonio. Then when she married Auther she transferred to NASA Space Center in Houston, Texas. After retirement from NASA she worked at Houston Methodist Hospital in the nutrition department.
Dorothy was a seamstress, and a wonderful Hostess. She was a member of Calvary Chapel Assembly of God for about 54 years she taught Sunday School to nursery age children.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Nellie Hewett, her husband Auther Hamilton, 5 of her brothers and 4 of her Sister's in Law. Hugh and Alma Hewett, Tom and Faye Hewett, Jack Hewett, Everett and Wanell Hewett, and Joe Hewett. Her Sisters in Law Maime Waitman,Velma Hamilton, and Nancy Hewett, and daughter in law Melba Hamilton.
She is survived by her brother Albert Hewett, step sons Jim Hamilton wife Sandi, her step daughter Hurma Rainer husband Raymond, her stepson Donnie Hamilton wife Jodie. 6 Grandchildren, 11 Great Grandchildren, and many Nieces and Nephews. Dorothy touched many lives and will be greatly missed by her friends and family.
Serving as pallbearers are Keith Hamilton, Austin Marshall, Bryce Marshall, Cody Marshall, Brett Marshall, Donnie Phillips, Kevin Haynor and Patrick Haynor.
