

Dorothy Nix (Williams) Murray of Deer Park, Tx passed away September 23, 2021. Dorothy was born July 4th, 1927 in Dallas, TX, the fifth of nine children. She spent her childhood years in and around Waco, TX where she met her first husband, Charles B. Williams Jr. They were married March 4th, 1945 in Dallas, TX. They lived in Waco, TX, until the late 1940’s when they moved to Houston, TX.
She worked for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company and in 1960 chose to stay home as a housewife and mother. After 40 years of marriage, her husband, Charles, passed away in 1985. She married William T. Murray in 1988 and they enjoyed a full life together until his death in 1994. She met Garland A. Long in 2001 and they enjoyed 14 years of Saturday dates until his death in 2015.
She enjoyed being with family and friends, traveling, crocheting, gardening and shopping. She was a long time member of Faith Assembly of God in Pasadena, TX .
She is preceded in death by her parents, B.D. and Edna Hewett Nix, and siblings, A.L. (Rock) Nix, Edna Mae Rosa, Ruth Myers, Betty Harrison, and Billy Nix. She is survived by her daughter, Dorothy Ann Trog, son-in-law, Garry W. Trog, grandchildren; Heather Trog, David Trog, Clarrissa Wilber and their spouses Nikki Trog and Randal Wilber as well as three great-grandchildren Russell, Callahan, and Sadie, as well as three sisters; Lila Markovitz, Peggy Hill, and Ann Barton.
Services will be held Tuesday, October 5, 2021 at Grand View Funeral Home in Pasadena, TX. The visitation will be at 12:30 followed by a Celebration of Life service at 1:30 in the chapel of the funeral home. The internment will be at Forest Park Lawndale in Houston, TX.
