Ellie Denise Singleton, affectionately known as Denise, passed away on April 27, 2025, at the age of 58. Born on September 18, 1966, in Houston, Texas, she was the cherished daughter of Rayburn Featherston and Grace Marie Ustick. Denise was a resident of Deer Park, Texas.
Denise was a beloved sister to Alisha Tovar and Billy Lightfoot. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Singleton. She leaves behind a legacy of love through her children: Lloyd Clark Jr., Jonathon Clark, Kristin Fernandez, Taylor Woodson, Dancie Singleton, Colin Singleton, and Stevan Singleton. Her grandchildren, who were her pride and joy, include Kathryn Clark, Kiara Clark, Mackenzie Clark, Tori Kelly, Hayley Clark, Isabella Singleton, Leilani Rodriguez, Autumn Clark, Jayson Clark, Zayne Fernandez, and Bella Fernandez.
Denise was a kind and loving soul with a fiery spirit. Known for her candid nature, she often referred to herself as the "village crazy lady," much like the grandmother from the movie Moana. Her love for her family and friends was boundless, and she embraced them wholeheartedly. Denise was known as the "COOL MOM," always welcoming her children's friends as her own, and teaching everyone the importance of kindness, love, and resilience.
Her passions included fishing and creating lasting memories with her grandchildren at Sylvan Beach Pier. Denise was talented in many ways, from decorating floral arrangements to preparing great holiday meals. She loved music and was learning the NYSNC "Bye Bye" dance from the Deadpool movie with her grandchildren. Denise was always the first to hit the dance floor, regardless of rhythm.
Denise's message to those she loved was to live life with love, laughter, and passion. She encouraged everyone to dye their hair, get the tattoo, dance like nobody's watching, and sing loudly. Denise will be remembered as a remarkable person who loved fiercely and taught her grandchildren to enjoy life, even if it meant sliding down a McDonald's slide on a food tray.
Visitation will be held on May 16, 2025, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Grand View Funeral Home, located at 8501 Spencer Highway, Pasadena, TX 77505.
