He was born on January 6, 1948 to his parents Ruth O. Witherwax and Elton C. Williamson, Sr. in Orange, Texas. Elton has been a resident of the LaPorte area since 1986.
He was a Vietnam War veteran in the 82nd Airborne division of the United States Army and was honorably discharged on July 3, 1968. He worked 18 years as a manager of Hobby Lobby and retired in 2013.
Kind, caring and loving father, Elton was preceded in death by his parents Elton, Sr. and Ruth Williamson. Elton is survived by his wife of 39 years, Bonita Martin Williamson of LaPorte, Texas and three children, Elton C. Williamson III, Troy Brandon Williamson and Amber Leann Liboiron. Elton Williamson III and his wife Tory live in LaPorte, Texas. Troy Williamson and his wife Amanda live in Friendswood, TX and have a daughter and a son, Landry Lee Williamson (11) and Grey Samuel Williamson (7). Amber Liboiron lives in Pasadena, TX and has one son, Julien Alexander Liboiron (10).
He is also survived by his sister, Sandra Payne of LaPorte, Texas and brother, Robert (Bob) Williamson and his wife Faye of Magnolia, Texas along with many nieces and nephews.
