Ernest T. Prince passed away on July 6, 2012 at the age of 91. He was born on September 6, 1920 in Charleston, North Carolina to Joseph and Hattie Prince. Ernest was a long time resident of Pasadena, Texas. During WWII Ernest served his country in the US Army Air Corps. He was a member of the American Legion Post 521 in Pasadena, and was a 50 year member of the Pasadena Elks Lodge #1832 and recently Clear Lake Elks Lodge #2322. Ernest was dedicated to his service in the Elks lodge performing many roles such as Lodge Chaplain, and in various officer positions. During 1968, Ernest was elected as Exalted Ruler of the Pasadena Elks Lodge.
Ernest is preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Betty Jean Prince; parents, Joseph Davis Prince and Hattie Gertrude Prince; son, Ernest T. Prince, Jr. “Spike”; 2 brothers, Theodore W. Prince and J.D. Prince. He is survived by 2 grandsons, Travis Prince and Todd Prince; daughter in law, Linda Prince; 2 great grandsons, Christopher Prince, and Justin Prince; and 1 great granddaughter, Corey Prince.
The family will receive friends for visitation from 3:00-6:00 p. m. on Sunday, July 8, 2012 at Grand View Funeral Home. Funeral services will take place on Monday, July 9, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. in the chapel of Grand View Funeral Home. Ernest will be laid to rest with military honors in South Park Cemetery, Pearland, TX.
