Ethel Florine Foster

Ethel Florine Gideon Foster, 91 of Deer Park, TX surrounded by her family went to be with her Lord on March 19, 2017. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend to many. She was born on October 5, 1925 to the late Murphy and Ethel Ray Gideon in Montgomery County. She was married to Hiram Foster on December 24, 1945. They moved to Pasadena, TX in 1956 where they raised 4 children. She was a homemaker, devoted Christian woman, worked at Pasadena ISD as a Physical Education teacher at Pomeroy Elementary and started a successful business as a wedding caterer for many years. She was very involved in church activities and spend many hours in the Second Baptist Church nursey taking care of children. She was talented, devoted and loving to everyone and was always willing do things for her family and other people.

She is survived by her husband of 71 years, Hiram Foster of Deer Park, TX, her son Gary Foster of Richards, TX and wife Dee, her son Donald Foster of Alexandria, VA and wife Shirley, her daughter Diane Foster Barnes of Pasadena, TX and husband Darwin and her son Stephen Foster of Deer Park, TX and wife Kimberly. Grandchildren: Shelley Foster McLaughlin, Stacey Foster Norstrud, Laura Lyons Keith, Shiree Thompson Foster, Donald Foster, Jr., April Foster Ponnuru, Amber Foster Schwartz, Bradley Barnes, Wesley Barnes, Maria Heaton, Jaime Foster Mellinger and Erin Foster Heflin. Great Grandchildren: Ty McLaughlin, Chase Foster, Alisa Foster, James Foster, Mary Ponnuru, Elizabeth Ponnuru, Eleanora Schwartz, Luke Schwartz, Alyssa Barnes, Daniel Barnes, Colton Barnes, Audrey Heaton, Meredith Mellinger and scores of nieces, nephews and friends.

Florine was preceded in death by her parents Murphy and Ethel Ray Gideon, Sister Mildred Gideon Foster, and Brother Tommy Eugene Gideon.

Pallbearers will be Grandsons: Bradley Barnes, Wesley Barnes, Shannon Norstrud, Adam McLaughlin, Aaron Mellinger, and Matt Heflin

We love you Florine and will always carry your memory in our hearts.

Visitation will be at Grand View Funeral Home in Pasadena, TX on March 23, 2017 from 5:00 – 8:00pm. Funeral services will be held at Union Grove Baptist Church in Richards, TX on March 24, 2017 at 11:00am. She will be laid to rest at Pool Cemetery of Montgomery County TX.
