Born on July 18, 1949, in Bellville, Texas, Eugene spent his childhood between Hempstead and the Heights area of Houston. On June 29, 1974, he married the love of his life, Karel. Together they shared 52 wonderful years of marriage and raised three children: Jamie, Kimberly, and Katie.
Eugene built a successful career as an inside salesman in the industrial supply industry, but his life’s true fulfillment came from the people he cherished. Whether it was a ballgame, school performance, or any special milestone, he was always there to support his grandchildren. He treasured every moment with Elizabeth, Kailynn, Emily, Kooper, Emerson, Avery, and his great-granddaughter, Audrey “Little Bit,” who filled his heart with pride and joy. He also enjoyed traveling and making memories with those closest to him.
He found happiness in life’s simple pleasures—fishing, hunting, tending to his rose garden, and growing beautiful purple roses just for Karel. Family vacations to Disney created treasured memories, and in later years he especially enjoyed visiting the mountains. He was happiest when everyone gathered together for backyard grilling, crawfish boils, holidays, and celebrations. Watching his grandchildren grow and cheering them on in sports and other activities brought him endless happiness.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate caregivers at Serenity Gardens for the love, kindness, and exceptional care they provided Eugene during his final days. Their support and dedication brought comfort not only to Eugene but also to his family, and they will always be deeply appreciated.
Eugene will be remembered for his kindness, steady presence, quick smile, and unwavering devotion to those he held dear. The love he gave so freely will continue to live on through the family and friends whose lives he touched.
