Frances Louise York, primarily known as Frankie, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, departed from this world on April 3rd, 2024, at the age of 85. She passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories.
Born on July 31, 1938, Frankie brought joy and warmth into the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her. From a young age, she demonstrated a passion for life and an infectious enthusiasm for everything she pursued. Frances was an active and vibrant presence in her community, excelling in academics and sports during her school years. Her love for basketball was particularly notable, and she dedicated herself wholeheartedly to the game, leaving an indelible mark on the courts where she played.
After attending Lee College, Frankie embarked on a fulfilling career as an editor for the legal department at the Tenneco Oil Company, but most importantly she was a leader of the word processing program where her keen eye for detail and dedication to her craft earned her the respect and admiration of colleagues and clients alike. Her work ethic and professionalism were unmatched, and she took great pride in every project she undertook.
Throughout her life She was extremely involved in her community, she was avid leader for girl scouts, a softball coach, and a part of the Circle of Angels in the First United Methodist Church of Centerville Texas. But perhaps Frankie greatest joy in life came from her role as a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She poured boundless love and affection into her family, nurturing and supporting them through life's joys and challenges. Her home was always filled with warmth and laughter, and she cherished every moment spent with her beloved grandchildren and great-grandchild.
Frankie had a zest for adventure and a love of travel, with cruises holding a special place in her heart. Exploring new destinations and experiencing different cultures brought her immense joy, and she cherished the memories made during her travels with loved ones by her side.
Frankie is survived by her adoptive daughter and biological granddaughter Nikki, great-granddaughter Logan, sister Janie, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and a multitude of extended family and friends whose lives she touched in countless ways. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
A celebration of Frankie’s life will be held on April 8th, 2024, at 10:00 AM at the Pasadena Funeral Home, where family and friends will gather to honor her memory and share stories of her remarkable life. Her viewing will begin the same day at 9:00am preceding her celebration of life service.
Though we mourn her loss, we take comfort in knowing that Frankie has found eternal peace, surrounded by love and light in the embrace of her Creator. Rest in peace, dear Frances. Your legacy of love and kindness will live on in our hearts forever.
