He was born in Pasadena, Texas on October 30, 1937. Gene entered the Army on March 4, 1957 and served as a Private 1st Class. He was awarded the National Defense Service Medal and Good Conduct Medal.
Gene married to Betty Lou Cuff on February 11, 1956. He worked as a self-employed contractor. He was a member of Masons and had a passion for his family, hunting, and fishing.
Gene is preceded in death by his wife, Betty "Bubba," grandson Brian Terry, parents, and brother. He is survived by his son Gene Melvin Terry Jr. and wife Michele, daughter Judy and husband Gary Holbrook, daughter Cindy and husband Stephen Thompson, daughters Robin and Susan Terry. Also left to cherish his memory are his grandchildren: Shane and Alesha Stavinoha, Troy and Chrissy Stavinoha, Tracey and Robert Kirchman, JJ and Melanie Jess, Tiffney and Jay Prickett, Terry Jr. and Holly Jess, Cory Holbrook, Chris and Taylor McClure, Kady Holbrook, Kayla Terry, Meagan and Allen Mulder, Brittany and Gilbert Mendoza, Travis Terry, Tyler McClure, Cameron Jefferson, and 16 great-grandchildren.
A Celebration of Gene's Life will be held Friday, September 29 at 3:00PM at Grand View Funeral Home.
