Glenn David Edwards of Baytown, Texas passed away unexpectedly at home on November 9, 2022 at the age of 64. Glenn was born in Pasadena, Texas on December 31, 1957 to Verna and Harry Edwards. He was a resident of the Burning Tree Living Center in Baytown, Texas for the past 30 years.
Glenn enjoyed watching television and making phone calls to his sister, brother-in-law, and brother. He had an uncommon ability to know what days of the week every holiday was on in the year, and how many weeks until that holiday. Glenn particularly looked forward to Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and of course his birthday.
Glenn enjoyed his family. He was particularly close to his mother and father, and mourned greatly when each of them passed. He liked working at the Living Center and Workshop which gave him purpose. He always enjoyed his Coke®, hamburger, and ice cream from Dairy Queen® whenever he was taken out by one of the family, and the workers there knew Glenn, if not by name, then certainly by his appetite.
Other activities that Glenn enjoyed included a small outing to see the “Green House” in Pasadena where his life started. The house has been painted white for several years by more recent owners, but Glenn just the same, always called it the “Green House”. In years past, Glenn enjoyed going to church and to the car lot with his father, Harry.
Glenn is preceded in death by his mother and father, Verna and Harry Edwards. Harry was a Deer Park, Texas businessman before his own death in 2016. Glenn is survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Jean and Mack Mayhew of Humble, Texas; brother and sister-in-law, Malcolm and Carolyn Edwards, of Boise County, Idaho; nephew Jim Edwards and his wife Erika Gebow of Bend, Oregon, and several cousins. Glenn will be missed. He will be laid to rest alongside his beloved mother and father.
Honorary Pallbearers are the residents and staff of the Burning Tree Living Center, Baytown, Texas. His family greatly appreciates all of the care and love given to Glenn throughout the many years that he was a resident at Burning Tree.
