Helen Jane Vacek Holman

December 29, 1936 to April 29, 2025

Helen Jane Vacek Holman, 88, of Cypress and Kingwood Texas, passed away on April 29, 2025. She was born in Houston, Texas on December 29, 1936, to Helen Crate Vacek and Henry Francis Vacek. Helen grew up in Houston and LaPorte. She was married to Bill Holman for 39 years until his death in 1994. Helen was a stay-at-home mother while her children were growing up and involved in their school and sports activities. She reentered the workforce in 1983 and spent her career as a secretary and administrative assistant, with most of her career spent at Denton State School in Denton, Texas and Bethesda Lutheran Community in Cypress, Texas. She was a valuable employee of Bethesda Lutheran Community and was well-loved by both staff and clients. She retired at the age of 72.

Helen was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Betty Burgin, her husband Bill Holman, and her son Bill Holman, Jr. She is survived by her daughters and their husbands, Donna and John Bridger, Susan and Wayne Corrigan, Laura and Jason Graber, and her daughter-in-law Glenda Potter Holman. Helen was the proud grandmother of ten grandchildren: Brandon Ramos and wife Marilyn, Joshua Holman, Blake Holman and wife Erin, Kathryn Bridger and husband Erich Vaughan, Zachary Bridger and wife Alyssa, Austin Bridger and wife Delaney, Samuel Corrigan, Amanda Corrigan and wife Silas Ponce Trejo, Olivia Graber, and Vash Graber. She is also survived by her eleven great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild, her sister Lamont Vaille, brother-in-law Bob Burgin and cousin Frances Crate.

Helen was artistic, a wonderful gardener, and loving and generous mother and grandmother. She spent her last two years at Village Green Alzheimer’s Care Home and was well loved by her caretakers. The family would like to thank the caregivers at Village Green and Bayou Hospice for their loving and respectful care of Helen. She will be greatly missed by all who loved her.

A visitation will be held on May 31, 2025, from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm at Grand View Funeral Home, located at 8501 Spencer Highway, Pasadena, TX 77505.

The funeral service will follow at the same location from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm.

The committal will take place at Grand View Funeral Home & Memorial Park/Bethany Cemetery, 8501 Spencer Hwy, Pasadena, TX 77505, from 3:00 pm to 3:30 pm.
