Helen June Leach

Helen June Leach went to her Heavenly home on May 11, 2014 in Pasadena, Texas at the age of 79. She was born on August 21, 1934 in Fayette Co., Texas to Roy Victor Fleck and Della Mae Gibson Fleck. Helen graduated from Pasadena High School in 1952 and was married to James Wesley Leach for 46 years. Helen and James raised their 4 children; Kenneth, Travis, Nelda and Roy in a Pasadena neighborhood where Helen was considered “everyone’s Mom”. She was a caring and service oriented lady. Helen loved being in the kitchen cooking for her family. She especially loved cooking big holiday dinners. Helen had a strong faith and loved the Lord, passing her faith on to her children. She was a long time active member of the Assembly of God Church and believed in the power of prayer. Helen adored her 10 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren and spending time with them was one of the highlights of her life. She leaves behind special memories and will be deeply missed.

Helen is preceded in death by her parents, Roy Victor Fleck and Della Mae Gibson Fleck; husband, James Wesley Leach; 1 brother, Leroy Fleck; 2 sisters, Nelly Elizabeth Fleck and Ruth E. Argabright. She is survived by 1 brother, Ernest Fleck, and his wife Margaret; 3 sons, Kenneth W. Leach and wife Cheryl, Travis N. Leach and wife Linda, Roy A. Leach and wife Theresa; 1 daughter, Nelda S. Fox and husband Geary; 10 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren; as well as many other extended family members and friends.

The family will receive friends for visitation at Grand View Funeral Home on Wednesday, May 14, 2014 from 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 15, 2014 in the Chapel of Grand View Funeral Home at 10:00 a.m., with interment to follow in Grand View Memorial Park. In lieu of usual remembrances donations in memory of Helen may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association Houston & Southeast Texas Chapter, 6055 South Loop East, Houston, TX 77087-1005.
