Herman Hughes Horton

Herman Hughes Horton, 86, passed away on April 18, 2014 in Bethany, Oklahoma. He was born on December 10, 1927 in Houston, Texas to Walter and Margaret Horton. He was preceded in death by parents; wife, Nancy Horton; sisters, Myrtis and Gladys and brother, Robert.

He is survived by his children, Donald Horton and wife, Earlene, Debbie Crume and husband Tim, Jack Horton and wife Debra Lee, Holley Hermenitt and husband Randy and Paula Clendenin and husband Therman; 8 grandchildren, James, Mary, Jack, Lacretia, Heather, Sheena, Scott and Samantha; and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.

Herman was employed with Houston Light and Power Company for 42 years. He was a native Texan and was part of the Electrician Union, AARP, Veterans Administration, any Methodist Church close to where he resided and he proudly served in the US Army. He enjoyed playing Dominoes, 42 in particular; he also enjoyed fishing, traveling, camping, reading and westerns. He will be dearly missed by those whose lives he touched.

Family will receive friends on Thursday, April 24, 2014 from 5 pm to 7 pm at Grand View Funeral Home. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, April 25, 2014 at 12:30 pm in the Chapel of Grand View Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Grand View Memorial Park.
