Ivan Park of Pasadena Texas passed away September 20th, 2021 at the age of 100. He was born in Mena, Arkansas on July 4th, 1921 to Karl and Bertha Park. He was the youngest of 8 brothers. After serving in the Civilian Conservation Corps in Oklahoma he met and married Evelyn Anderson. They moved to Pasadena in the 1940’s and he went to work for Rohm and Hass Chemical, where he worked for 30 years. He also began buying rental properties and at one time owned a large number of houses and apartments in the Pasadena area. He was a proud member of the Masonic Lodge for over 60 years.
Paw Paw as he was known to most of us loved visiting with friends and family and truly never met a stranger. He loved telling the many stories about his life and if you were around him much you probably heard them more than once. He loved the outdoors especially fishing and shrimping. Some of his fondest memories were fishing from the end of his pier or shrimping out on Galveston Bay.
He is survived by his Daughter-in-law Rose Park of Tyler Texas, Grandsons Steve Park and wife Becky of Dickinson Texas, Russell Park and wife Kim of Tyler Texas, Great Grandson Logan Park of College Station Texas, Great Granddaughters Tia Youngblood and husband Travis of Pearland Texas, Kayce Park and fiancé Chris Rosser of Dickinson Texas, Reagan Park of Tyler Texas, Great Great Grandsons Travin and Taydin Youngblood of Pearland Texas. He is preceded in death by his wife Evelyn, son Dr. John Paul Park, as well as his parents and brothers.
The family would like to thank all the staff at Colonial Oaks for taking such wonderful care of our Paw Paw over the last 5 plus years.
