Ivette Villarreal Cantú, beloved wife, mother, daughter, and friend, passed away at the age of 38. She was born on November 6, 1987, in General Bravo, Nuevo León, Mexico, and was raised in San Juan, Texas.
Ivette was a caring, compassionate, and supportive woman who loved her family deeply. She was naturally reserved and quiet, but those who knew her well knew that behind her quiet nature was a warm, easygoing, and understanding person. She was an observant listener who made people feel comfortable being themselves. She never judged others and was always willing to listen and offer her support.
Above all, Ivette was a devoted mother to her daughters, Laisha and Sheney Villarreal. Her daughters were her greatest source of pride and joy. She did everything she could to be there for them, not only as their mother, but as their biggest supporter. She was incredibly proud of Laisha for being on her way to finish her bachelors degree and was equally proud of Sherey as she prepared to finish high school. Their accomplishments meant so much to her because she had always wanted to see her daughters succeed and build lives they could be proud of.
Ivette had a special way of showing her love through the little things. She would buy her daughters the snacks she knew they liked simply because she knew it would make them happy. She loved being around her family—talking, spending time together, going shopping, taking trips, or simply enjoying an ordinary day together.
Some of the family's favorite memories will be of the simple moments they shared. Ivette and her daughters loved going to get fast food and watching movies together or going to the movie theater. She loved family trips, even though she would happily admit that she did not enjoy planning them. What mattered most to her was not where they went, but that they were together.
Ivette also had a playful sense of humor. Because she looked so young, she would jokingly tell her daughters that she was their other sister, a memory that will undoubtedly bring smiles and laughter to her family for years to come.
Ivette shared loving relationship with her husband, Reynol Villarreal. Their story began when they were young—two kids who fell in love and grew through life together. Their relationship was not always simple, but the love they shared and the family they built together remained an important part of Ivette's life.
She enjoyed many things that reflected her fun and unique personality. She loved Jack in the Box, Peter Piper Pizza, horror movies, crime documentaries, working out, crossword puzzles, escape rooms, and roller coasters. Her favorite color was black, and her favorite holiday was Halloween.
Ivette will be deeply missed by her husband, Reynol Villarreal; her daughters, Laisha and Sheney Villarreal; her mother, Lupita Garcia; and her extended family, friends, and loved ones.
She was preceded in death by her father, Antonio Cantú, her Grandparents Martin and Elvira Anaya.
Ivette's family will forever cherish the memories they made with her—the family trips, movie nights, shopping trips, fast-food runs, conversations, laughter, and all the seemingly ordinary moments that became extraordinary simply because she was there.
