Born in Orange, Texas, on June 6, 1949, James was the son of Junius and Helen French. He graduated from Stark High School in Orange, Texas, in 1967, and later worked at the DuPont Chemical Plant in La Porte, TX, where he ultimately retired. James was a member of CityMark Church in Webster, TX.
James made life warmer for those around him—truly beloved, and remembered for a presence that could draw laughter with ease. He met people with a steady kindness and a gentle spirit, leaving an impression of quiet goodness on everyone who crossed his path.
He found joy in simple, faithful pleasures: woodworking, cooking, watching old movies, taking long drives, and watching the waves at the beach. A huge animal lover, James carried a tender regard for creatures great and small.
