James Donald Price, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away on November 20, 2024, at the age of 76. Born on October 6, 1948, in Houston, Mississippi, Don was a man of great integrity, loyalty, and kindness, whose life was defined by hard work and a deep love for his family.
Don shared 33 wonderful years of marriage with his beloved wife, Katie Price. Together, they built a life full of love, laughter, and cherished memories. Don worked for 35 years at Brown and Root, where he earned the respect of his peers and rose to the position of area superintendent. Afterward, he transitioned to a role as a technical writer for SAP, where he developed safe operating procedures for industrial maintenance machinery and rotating equipment overhaul. His dedication to excellence and safety was a hallmark of his career.
Outside of work, Don had a passion for cars. Whether working on them, buying, selling, or negotiating a deal, he found great joy in this lifelong hobby. He owned and operated both mechanic shops and used car lots through the years. Known for his loyalty and fairness, Don treated everyone with respect and always adhered to the principle of treating others the way he wanted to be treated.
Don was preceded in death by his wife, Katie Price, and his son, Doug Holder. He is survived by his loving children: Kathy Elbert and her husband Jeremy, Don Price and his wife Edie, and Mike Price. He also leaves behind his cherished grandchildren: Dustin Price and his wife Kaitlyn, Cameron Price and his wife Lindsey, great grandchildren: Nolun, Luke, and Beaux.
Don will be deeply missed but fondly remembered for his unwavering dedication to his family, his honesty, and the warmth he brought to everyone who knew him. His legacy of love, hard work, and kindness will continue to inspire those he leaves behind.
A visitation will be held at Grand View Funeral Home, located at 8501 Spencer Highway, Pasadena, Texas, 77505, on December 2, 2024, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
The funeral service will take place at the same venue on December 3, 2024, from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm.
