Janet Sprague

She was born in Akron, Ohio on 10/29/1936 to James and Helen Linderman.

She was married to Richard B. Sprague for 48 years.

Janet had a career in cosmetology for a number of years in cosmetology; however, her primary career was a devoted wife and loving mother.

She was a member of Bayshore Baptist Church in La Porte, Texas; a lifetime member of the VFW auxiliary, during which time she enjoyed serving as the chaplain.

Janet loved the Lord and enjoyed Bible studies, and she led a Sunday school class for several years. She had a passion for spending time with her church family as well as her immediate family, playing cards & dominos, and even playing video games with her children and grandchildren. She also enjoyed bowling and was on two women's bowling leagues for several years.

Janet was preceded in death by her husband, Richard; her parents, eight siblings, and son-in-law, Byron Peden.

She is survived by her four daughters: Janene Sprague of Pasadena, Texas; Judith & husband James Swarts, of Manhattan, Kansas; Jennifer Peden of La Porte, Texas; and Jayne & husband Paul Parker of La Porte, Texas;

13 grandchildren: Jessica Miller, Brian Miller, Douglas Berges, Anthony Berges, Nicholas Berges, Ashley Bailey, Alyse Boyd, Aaron Peden, Addison Peden, Blake Eaton, Krista Orr, Ciarra Orr, and Jaydon Postell;

24 great-grandchildren, and six great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held at Grand View Funeral Home, 8501 Spencer Highway, Pasadena, TX 77505, US, on April 20, 2026, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm.

A Funeral Service will take place at Grand View Funeral Home, 8501 Spencer Highway, Pasadena, TX 77505, US, on April 21, 2026, from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm.

A Committal Service will follow at Grand View Funeral Home & Memorial Park/Bethany Cemetery, 8501 Spencer Hwy, Pasadena, TX 77505, US, on April 21, 2026, from 3:00 pm to 3:30 pm.
