Jessie Matuszczak, 93, of Deer Park, TX, passed away on August 25, 2026. Born on December 25, 1932, in Poland, Jessie’s life carried the strength of a generation shaped by history and the hope of new beginnings. After World War II, she immigrated to the United States, where she met her husband, John Matuszczak, and together they built a home filled with love and the steady devotion of raising three wonderful children.
Jessie was a woman who never went unnoticed. She was honest, outspoken, and always true to herself. She said what she thought and never felt the need to pretend or sugarcoat things. With Jessie, you always knew where you stood, and that honesty was one of the things that made her so special. But beneath her strong, straightforward personality was a deeply caring heart. She had a special tenderness for her children and grandchildren and genuinely loved taking care of them. She gave them her time, attention, and a sense of comfort and safety that came naturally to her.
Jessie found a lot of happiness in the simple things that made a house feel like home. She loved cooking and baking, and she had a way of showing her love through the food she made and shared with others. She also enjoyed the quiet pleasure of being at home, watching old movies and shows. Musicals held a special place in her heart. She loved the music, the stories, and the laughter, emotion, and drama that came with them.
One of Jessie’s proudest moments was becoming an American citizen. She came to the United States from Poland and built a life here through hard work, determination, and perseverance. Becoming a citizen was an important part of that journey and something she was truly proud of.
Jessie will be remembered for her honesty, her strength, her resilience, and, most of all, her big heart. She showed her love by being there, taking care of people, and doing the little things that made others feel cared for. She never needed recognition for what she did. Taking care of the people she loved was simply part of who she was. That love, and the way she made people feel, is something that will stay with all of us.
Jessie is survived by her son, Richard Matuszczak; her daughters, Irene Michaels and Christine Matuszczak; her grandchildren, Jennifer, Julie, Matthew, Sara and Miranda; her great-grandchildren, Charli, Madison, Richard and Mila; and her great-great-grandchildren, Oliver, Johnny and Theo.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Matuszczak, as well as her mother and father.
