Jose was born on May 3, 1953, in Laredo, Texas. He was raised in Corpus Christi, Texas. On August 4, 1973, he married Rosa Hernandez. They moved to La Porte, Texas in 1976. Jose was employed by the City of La Porte for 22 years until he retired in 2002. In his younger and healthier years, Jose was an avid boater, fisherman, bowler, softball player, and umpire. He also enjoyed cooking, playing pool, dominoes and card games. He loved to go “cruisin” with his grandchildren around La Porte and taking them out for sno-cones and Dairy Queen. He was a great man of faith and a long time member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church where he served as a 4th Degree Knight in the Knights of Columbus. Jose enjoyed spending time with family and close friends and was a joy to all that encountered him.
Jose is survived by his loving wife, Rosa Molina (Hernandez), his children, grandchildren, and siblings. Children: Rebecca Zepeda and her husband Carlos; Ernest Molina and his wife Konnie; Joey Molina and his wife Geraldine. Grandchildren: Elyssa Molina, Natalie Molina, Alexandros Molina, Saoirse Molina, Andrew Garcia, Samantha Zepeda and Sara Zepeda. Siblings: Jesse Gonzalez, Jose Maria “Blackie” Gonzalez, Isabel Ramirez, Ermelinda Hernandez, Victor Gonzalez, Esperanza Perez, Diana Campa, David Campa, Julie Martinez, Rosa Ramirez, Marivel Castro, and Generosa Alvarez. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly.
Jose is preceded in death by his grandparents, parents and siblings; Danny Campa, Fidel Gonzalez Jr., Robert Ramirez Jr., Antonio Gonzalez Sr., and Maria Garza.
