Joe was born August 17, 1941, to Joe and Ila Myrle Blackshear in Wichita Falls, Texas. He enjoyed playing basketball at Wichita Falls High School where he graduated in the class of 1959. Joe married Karen Kraemer on December 30, 1962. He graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree from North Texas State University in 1966. In 1968, he began his career in the petrochemical industry in purchasing from which retired at age 55. He then began a sales career which he enjoyed and continued until he was 82. Joe loved his family and cherished his time with them.
He is survived by his wife, Karen, of nearly 63 years; daughters Angela Kelley, Jennifer Casey (husband Rickey), and Amy Lofton; grandchildren Kimberly Miller (husband Matt), Scott Casey (wife Amanda), Kalynn Casey, Morgan Kelley, and Conner Lofton; and seven great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents; sisters Maryann Morrison and Barbara Head; and grandson Stephen Casey.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, December 17 from 1:00PM - 2:00PM in the Chapel of First Baptist Church Pasadena, located at 7500 Fairmont Parkway, Pasadena, Texas 77505. A Celebration of Joseph's life will begin at 2:00PM.
