Joseph Anthony Perales Jr., lovingly known as Joey, was a beautiful light in the lives of all who knew him. Born on January 23, 1990, in Pasadena, Texas, Joey lived with a rare warmth, a generous heart, and a spirit that made others feel instantly welcomed and deeply loved. On July 5, 2026, he went home to be with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, leaving this world far too soon and leaving behind a legacy of love, kindness, and unforgettable memories that will live on forever.
Joey was the beloved son of Joseph Anthony Perales Sr. and Delia Ann Perales; a loving brother to Delia Nicole Perales, Matthew Michael Perales, and Christopher Edward Perales; a proud uncle to Bryan Aguilera Jr., Emily Aguilera, Jacob Aguilera, Connor Perales, Logan Perales, and Parker Perales; a cherished cousin; and an incredibly loyal friend. His family was his foundation, and he loved them with all his heart.
If you knew Joey, you knew that his friendships were among the greatest blessings of his life. He loved deeply and stood faithfully by those he cared for, always willing to help, encourage, or simply be present.
His heart remained forever connected to two of his dearest friends, Mariano and Grayson, and it brings our family comfort knowing he will rest beside them. Joey also shared a lifelong bond with his childhood best friend, Jeanell Smith. They grew up together, created countless memories, and became like brother and sister, a relationship our family treasured for many years. His beloved friend and travel companion, Shelby Daugherty, became part of our extended family, and we will always be grateful for the joy and adventures they shared together. Joey was also blessed with the friendship of Daniel, whose remarkable bond with him brought comfort, laughter, and unwavering support. Our family is deeply thankful for the love and care Daniel continuously showed Joey.
Joey had a faithful heart and loved our Lord and Savior with quiet sincerity. He had a gift for making people feel welcomed, accepted, and loved. His warm smile could light up any room, and his gentle spirit left a lasting impression on everyone he met.
As a dedicated nurse, Joey cared deeply for his patients and worked alongside his colleagues with compassion, kindness, and professionalism. His caring nature extended far beyond the hospital walls, touching the lives of neighbors, strangers, family, and friends alike. Joey embraced his identity with confidence, love, and joy, living authentically and inspiring others through his kindness, courage, and genuine heart.
Joey was also known for his competitive spirit and his love of playing darts, a pastime he enjoyed with skill, focus, and enthusiasm. He also had a deep love for his Mustang, a reflection of his personality, style, and the joy he found in the things he loved most.
Although our hearts are broken beyond words, we find peace in knowing Joey is now in the loving arms of Jesus. While we grieve the loss of his physical presence, we rejoice in the promise that this is not goodbye, but until we meet again.
Joey’s life was a blessing, his memory a treasure, and his love a gift that death can never take away. His laughter, his radiant smile, his compassionate heart, and the unconditional love he shared so freely will remain with us forever.
Forever loved. Forever missed. Forever our Joey.
